Standard Chartered’s Haymans Fung Takes on Global Role as Head of Wealth and Retail Bank Marketing

Haymans Fung, the head of marketing for wealth and retail banking in Hong Kong at Standard Chartered, has recently been appointed as the global head of wealth and retail bank marketing. In her new role, Fung will oversee markets in Hong Kong, Singapore, China, India, Korea, UAE, and Taiwan.

Fung will report to Samir Subberwal, the global head of wealth solutions, deposits, and mortgages at Standard Chartered Bank. She will continue to lead the marketing efforts in Hong Kong while also providing strategic leadership in developing the global marketing strategy to accelerate the growth of the wealth and retail banking business.

One of Fung’s key responsibilities will be to drive effectiveness through customer insights and data analysis to ensure a client-centric omnichannel messaging and experience. She will also lead the bank’s digital marketing initiatives and explore new technologies to foster innovation.

With almost three years of experience at Standard Chartered, Fung has been instrumental in spearheading profitable expansion across various divisions within the bank. She has also led a performance marketing team focused on driving digital sales for credit card and personal loan businesses.

In addition to her new role, Fung was involved in a recent public educational campaign on fraud prevention, where Standard Chartered Hong Kong transformed a dim sum eatery into an “anti-fraud restaurant.” The campaign aimed to educate the public, especially the elderly, on common scam tactics and methods of protection.

Fung’s appointment comes at a crucial time as Standard Chartered continues to strengthen its position as a leading international wealth manager for affluent customers. Her expertise in marketing and digital initiatives will play a vital role in driving the bank’s global marketing strategy and reinforcing its commitment to providing exceptional services to clients worldwide.
